Abstract:
According to the present invention, a liquid crystal panel (100A) for a scanning antenna has: a TFT substrate (101A) that has a first dielectric substrate (1), a TFT that is supported on the first dielectric substrate (1), a gate bus line, a source bus line, a patch electrode (15), and a first alignment film (16A) that covers the patch electrode; a slot substrate (201A) that has a second dielectric substrate (51), a slot electrode (55) that is formed upon a first main surface of the second dielectric substrate (51) and that has a slot (57) that is arranged to correspond to the patch electrode, and a second alignment film (56A) that covers the slot electrode (55); and a liquid crystal layer (LC) that is provided between the TFT substrate (101A) and the slot substrate (201A) and that includes liquid crystal molecules that have an isothiocyanate group. The first alignment film (16A) and the second alignment film (56A) are each independently formed from a polyamide alignment film material, and the carboxyl group density of a film surface of the first alignment film (16A) and a film surface of the second alignment film (56A) that contact the liquid crystal layer (LC) is lower than inside the films.
