Abstract:
The present invention relates to a coagulant that is added to effectively recover a sugar solution from a saccharified product that contains insoluble saccharified residues composed mainly of lignin, and monosaccharides after acidic saccharification or enzymatic saccharification of a lignocellulosic biomass, and to a method for utilizing the coagulant. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for recovering a sugar solution prepared through saccharification of biomass, the method comprising: a biomass-saccharified product preparing step of adding and saccharifying pretreated biomass with a saccharifying enzyme; a fine particle coagulation step of adding a saccharified residue-coagulating polyethylene glycol to the biomass-saccharified product and stirring same to afford a slurry in which fine particles are coagulated; and a sugar solution recovery step of separating a sugar solution from the fine particle-coagulated slurry by centrifugation or filtration.
