Abstract:
A screw compressor is provided with: a male rotor (2) and a female rotor (3), which have rotor tooth sections (21, 31) having a plurality of helical teeth and which rotate while meshing with each other; a casing (4) having a main casing (41) having formed therein a bore (45) for accommodating the male rotor (2) and the female rotor (3), the casing (4) further having a discharge-side casing (43) for closing the discharge side of the bore (45); and a discharge passage (60) having a discharge port (61) open at the bore-side surface of the discharge-side casing (43) in the direction of the rotation axes of the male rotor (2) and the female rotor (3), the discharge passage (60) allowing compressed gas flowing therein from the discharge port (61) to flow therethrough. The male rotor (2) and the female rotor (3) are configured so that the discharge-side end surfaces (21a, 31a) of the rotor tooth sections (21, 31) are the front ends of the male rotor (2) and the female rotor (3) in the direction of the rotation axes. The discharge passage (60) has an expanded flow passage (63) extending from the discharge port (61) in the direction of the rotation axes of the male rotor (2) and the female rotor (3) and having a flow passage cross-sectional area which gradually increases from the discharge port (61) toward the downstream side in the direction of flow of the compressed gas.
