Abstract:
This scroll compressor manufacturing method employs a machine tool (1) provided with: a table (30); a workpiece securing portion (40) which is provided on the table (30) to cause the table (30) to hold a workpiece; and a tool gripping portion (23) holding a cutting tool which cuts the workpiece. This manufacturing method comprises: an orbiting scroll material securing step of placing an orbiting scroll material, which is a workpiece, on a jig, and securing to the jig the orbiting scroll material that has been placed on the jig; a jig securing step of placing the jig, to which the orbiting scroll material has been secured, on a certain region of the table (30), and using the workpiece securing portion (40) to secure to the table (30) the jig that has been placed on the certain region; and an orbiting scroll fabricating step of fabricating an orbiting scroll by using the cutting tool to cut the orbiting scroll material that has been placed on the jig secured to the table (30).
