[Problem] To provide a scroll-type fluid machine capable of applying appropriate back pressure to a movable scroll even when the temperature of a working fluid at an inlet of an expansion part has changed. [Solution] A scroll-type fluid machine is provided with: an expansion part (2) for expanding a refrigerant in an expansion chamber (E) formed between respective laps (58, 66) of a fixed scroll (8) and a movable scroll (10) to cause the movable scroll to perform an orbital rotating motion; and a low stage-side compression part (4) for compressing the refrigerant by power recovered by the compression part, and sucks in the high-pressure refrigerant compressed by a high stage-side compressor from a central section of the expansion part. The scroll-type fluid machine is provided with a seal ring (48) which partitions a back pressure chamber (68) at the back of the movable scroll into a central part (68b) and an outer peripheral part (68a). The refrigerant maintained at high pressure is supplied to the central part of the back pressure chamber, and the refrigerant maintained at the discharge pressure of the compression part is supplied to the outer peripheral part of the back pressure chamber.
