Abstract:
Core sampling is enabled over a wide range of the seabed. The present invention is provided with a main robot 3 that moves underwater by remote operation, and a sampling robot 2 that is connected to a manipulator 7 attached to the main robot 3, and can move in relation to the seabed. The sampling robot 2 is provided with a core tube 11 for excavating the seabed by being rotated and propelled, introducing a core 18 of the seabed thereto by excavating, and bending the introduced core 18 to create a core piece 17. The main robot 3 is provided with a core rack 9 for storing the core piece 17 from inside the core tube 11.
