Abstract:
This seat-type rocking device enables a user to sensorily feel adequate rocking motion while providing stable support for the user. A strut member (12) is linked to respective central parts of both a base (11) and a top board for supporting a seat so as to allow the top board to be supported in an rockable manner. A supporting surface (11a) of the base (11) has installed in an area in the front of or at the back of the strut member (12) a pair of rocking mechanisms (15A, 15B) each comprising: a motor (MA, MB) capable of rotating both in a forward direction and a backward direction; and a link mechanism (LA, LB) which is disposed between an output shaft (115) of the motor (MA, MB) and the top board, and which is linked to both of the output shaft and the top board so as to be able to be displaced in an upward direction or a downward direction in conjunction with the rotation of said motor. Meanwhile, the motor (MB) of the rocking mechanism (15B) has an axial direction aligned with a direction that runs obliquely leftward from the central part of the supporting surface (11a), while the axial direction of the motor (MA) of the other rocking mechanism (15A) is aligned with a direction that runs obliquely rightward from the central part of the supporting surface (15a).
