Abstract:
Disclosed are a self-cleaning apparatus and method using electrical vibration and mechanical vibration. The self-cleaning apparatus comprises at least one first electrode arranged on a solid material layer, a first dielectric layer arranged on the first electrode, a hydrophobic layer arranged on the first dielectric layer, and at least one mechanical vibrator. Here, a first electrical signal is applied to the first electrode to generate electrical vibration which causes vibration of droplets in the horizontal direction and merge the droplets on the hydrophobic layer, and the mechanical vibrator generates mechanical vibration which causes vibration of the droplets in the vertical direction so as to remove the merged droplets by moving the merged droplets in a certain direction or atomizing the merged droplets.
