The present invention belongs to the technical field of air conditioners. Specifically provided are a self-cleaning control method for an air conditioner, and an air conditioner. The present invention aims to solve the problem of an existing air conditioner being unable to deeply clean oil dirt. For this purpose, the self-cleaning control method in the present invention specifically comprises: controlling the temperature of a heat exchanger to be less than or equal to a first dew point temperature, such that dew is condensed on the surface of the heat exchanger; spraying a cleaning agent onto the surface of the heat exchanger; controlling the temperature of the heat exchanger to be less than or equal to a second dew point temperature, such that dew is condensed on the surface of the heat exchanger; and controlling the temperature of the heat exchanger to be increased, such that the surface of the heat exchanger is dried again. Provided is a new control method for oil dirt removal. A double-dew-condensation scheme is used, such that deep self-cleaning can be achieved.
