Abstract:
A semiconductor device according to the present invention comprises, for example: an output electrode configured so that an inductive load can be connected thereto; a grounding electrode configured so that a grounding terminal can be connected thereto; a first transistor and a second transistor that are configured to be connected in parallel between the output electrode and the grounding electrode; an active clamp circuit configured to be connected to a gate of the first transistor; and a gate control circuit configured to perform gate control on the first transistor and the second transistor so that the first transistor and the second transistor are turned on in a first operating mode, and the first transistor and the second transistor are turned off in a second operating mode. After transitioning from the first operating mode to the second operating mode, the gate control circuit causes a short between the gate and the source of the second transistor before the active clamp circuit operates.
