Abstract:
This semiconductor light emitting device (100) comprises a substrate (110), and a semiconductor laminate (109) formed on the substrate (110), wherein: the semiconductor laminate (109) has an n-side clad layer (111) laminated on the substrate (110), an active layer (112) laminated on the n-side clad layer (111), and a p-side clad layer (113) laminated on the active layer (112); the semiconductor laminate (109) includes a first surface perpendicular to a laminate direction in which the semiconductor laminate (109) is laminated; and the lattice constant in the first surface has anisotropy.
