Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a semipermeable membrane support for membrane bioreactor treatments that has excellent solvent resistance and is not susceptible to decreased strength when coated with a coating solution for forming a semipermeable membrane on the semipermeable membrane support. The semipermeable membrane support for membrane bioreactor treatments is a non-woven fabric containing main fibers and binder fibers, and is characterized in that stretched polyester fibers are included as the main fibers and core-sheath polyester composite fibers are included as the binder fibers, the sheath portion therein being a crystalline copolymer polyester that has terephthalic acid as the dicarboxylic acid component, ethylene glycol and tetramethylene glycol as the diol component, and a melting point of 160–185°C.
