Abstract:
A system for imaging image data measures the distance to an object without adding a distance measurement sensor. This sensing system comprises a light-emitting unit, a prescribed number of pixels, and a counting unit. In this solid-state imaging element, the light-emitting unit emits emission light in synchronization with a light-emitting control signal having a higher frequency than a prescribed vertical synchronizing signal. In addition, the prescribed number of pixels respectively generate pulse signals by photoelectric conversion. In addition, the counting unit counts the number of pulse signals in synchronization with each of the light emission control signal and the vertical synchronizing signal.
