Abstract:
A servo writer comprises: a write head that writes a servo signal to a traveling elongated magnetic tape; a guide roller provided on the upstream side of a travel path from the write head, the guide roller guiding the traveling magnetic tape; and a polishing part provided on the upstream side of the travel path from the guide roller, the polishing part polishing at least one edge of the traveling magnetic tape, the guide roller having a flange part that limits the travel of the magnetic tape.
