Abstract:
[Problem] Provided is a sewing machine, which does not require a board-shaped member to be superposed on the fabric that is to be embroidered and does not require dissolution of said board-shaped member, and with which the length of the needle thread can be adjusted for each stitch and fine-textured hollow embroidery can be obtained. [Solution] The presser foot (12c) of the sewing machine is provided with a main body (210), a swinging reciprocating mechanism (230), and a thread-hooking rod-driving motor (240). The swinging reciprocating mechanism (230) is provided with a thread-hooking rod (236). A needle thread-receiving section, which, together with the thread-hooking rod (236), fixes the needle thread, is provided inside the tip-configuring section (216) of the main body (210). By driving the thread-hooking rod-driving motor (240), the swinging reciprocating mechanism (230) swings and reciprocates with respect to the main body (210). When a balance (12a) draws the needle thread upward, it is possible to adjust the length of the needle thread of the one previous stich using a rotating arm (81), which is hooked to the needle thread and is rotated, by adjusting the upward rotation angle of the rotating arm (81).
