Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a sheet manufacturing device and a sheet manufacturing method that are capable of increasing the degree of freedom in terms of materials to be procured. This sheet manufacturing device is provided with: a raw material supply part that supplies a raw material; a defibrating part that forms a raw-material fiber by defibrating the raw material; a pressure application part that applies pressure in the thickness direction on a deposit obtained by depositing the raw-material fiber, wherein the raw material supply part includes a cutting part for cutting the raw material, and is provided with a sterilization part for sterilizing the raw material before the raw material is supplied to the cutting part.
