Abstract:
The present invention detects metal so that the impact thereof on granulating blades can be prevented. A sheet production apparatus is provided with a granulating unit 12 for granulating feedstock waste paper using granulating blades 14, a supply unit 10 for moving the waste paper in a supply path 500 that connects to the granulating unit 12, and metal detection units 501C and 502D disposed in the supply path 500. The metal detection units 501C and 502D detect metal attached to the waste paper or contained in the waste paper before the waste paper reaches the granulating blades 14. The supply unit 10 stops movement of the waste paper when a metal detection unit 501C or 502D detects metal.
