Abstract:
Flat cables having a tri-plate structure are widely used in electronic devices requiring thin wiring. However, stabilization of upper and lower ground potentials is a problem for tri-plate structures. Moreover, insulation layers contact the outside air and are therefore easily affected by humidity and other environmental factors, and highly hygroscopic resins have problems with the stabilization of transmission characteristics, and therefore are not easily adopted. However the flat cable of the present invention is such that areas other than terminal parts are covered with metal. Therefore, the present invention provides: a thin, shielded flat cable having a structure for which the electric potential of an entire shielding film is stable, and an insulator is not easily affected by external environmental factors such as humidity and temperature; and a method for manufacturing said thin, shielded flat cable.
