Description:
SHOULDER HAND SKI CARRIER WITH RECTRACTABLE WIRES

Technical Field

The "Shoulder Hand Ski Carrier with retractable wires" permits an easier transportation of the skis in short distance, as from the parking to the lifting plants, carrying skis in horizontal position slung over the shoulder as a bag with the wires extended, and is easily put in a pocket with the wires retracted.

Background Art

The "Shoulder Hand Ski Carrier with retractable wires" permits an easier transportation of the skis in short distance, as from the parking to the lifting plants, positioning the skis in an horizontal position, in order to avoid impact with the legs of the skier, and successively can be easily put in a pocket with its wires retracted.

The carriage of the skis and of the ski poles is difficult for several reasons: the ski dimensions, because skis do not stay easily together neither among them nor with ski poles, because skier dresses ski boots and gloves that limit its mobility.

For these reasons it is often necessary the use of both hands, and is not possible to make other things during the carriage.

At the state of the art several systems for the carriage of the skis in horizontal position slung over the shoulder are on the market, but they are essentially a shoulder belt, and therefore really uncomfortable in the pocket or in the bags after the carriage of the skies.

A system for the carriage of the skis with a single retractable wire has been patented in Italy (ITB02011A0000475), but it is part of an integrated system of ski and bindings, and thus not usable for skis realized without this system. Furthermore this system permits the carriage of the skis in vertical position.

An analogous solution has been described in the patent DE3426584A1, comprising a system with a spiral spring that retain the wires inside to a housing. In this case the solution is screwed in the skis, with the followings limitations:

• it is possible to use it for only one pair a skis, the pair which the system is joined;

• it is a invasive solution because require to drill the skis;

• it add some weights on the skis with possible dynamic not desiderate effects.

A system that retrieve two wires inside a main body has been described in the patent US6375109B1, but it is developed for a different application. The two wires are two electrical wires for an audio signal, thus with no traction force applied in. The wires of the skis carrier object of this invention supports a not negligible traction forces due to the weight of the skis. Furthermore the skis carrier object of this invention needs a less number of internal parts (one only) for the retaining of the rotors.

On the market there is also a system with a single retractable belt, but also it permits the carriage of the skis in a vertical position, with the risk of contact with the legs of the skier during the walk.

The "Shoulder Hand Ski Carrier with retractable wires" overcomes the limitations of the previous described systems, and permits the carriage of the skis in a horizontal position without the risk of contact with the legs of the skiers during the walk, and with a limited encumbrance in the pocket or in the bag when the wires are retracted, after the carriage of the skis.

Disclosure of Invention

The "Shoulder Hand Ski Carrier with retractable wires" consists in a system with two wires knotted at two belts skies, that permits an easy transportation of the skis in short distance, as for example from the parking to the lifting plants, carrying skis in horizontal position slung over the shoulder as a bag. The two wires are retract inside the body of the ski carrier when not in use, in order to be easily put in a pocket.

Best mode for Carrying out the Invention

The "Shoulder Hand Ski Carrier with retractable wires" (1) consists in a main body (2), wherein the couple of wires (3) can be retracted. At the extremity of each wire there is a skis belt (4), normally used for the retaining of the skis, easily to find in the market in several forms and not object of this invention, fixed with a "D" ring (5), easily to find on the market and not object of this invention.

The main system (2) consists of a central body (6), with assembled two rotating systems (7), each one consists of a rotor body (8), a balancing body (9) and a spiral spring (10).

A sex bolt (11) assembles the system and permits the mutual rotation after the bolt tightening.

The spiral spring (10) at the internal extremity is fold in order to obtain a hook to engage in an appropriate recess (12) in the central body (6).

In the same way at the external extremity the spring (10) is fold to obtain an appropriate recess (13) in the rotor body (8).

In this way the spring acts with a retaining force on the rotor body when it is rotated.

The rotor body (8) has a cylindrical surface (14) on which the wire is wrapped, with a lateral wall to contain it.

Thus the wires are wrapped onto the rotor (8) and inside of the central body (6) in their rest position.

On each rotor (8) there is a recess (15) (16) for the balancing body (9). In the internal side (15) of the rotor (8) the recess has a cylindrical shape in order to permit the rotation of the balancing body (9) of a angle (16), that permits the surface (17) of the central body (6) to get in contact with the face (18) of the balancing body (9), and to align the hole for the wire (19) of the central body (6) with the hole for the wire (20) of the balancing body (9).

Each wire (3) is joined to the balancing body (9) with a simple knot (22) at one extremity, housed in an appropriate widening (21) of the hole of the balancing body (8), and into a "D" ring (5) connected to the ski belt (4) at the other side.

With these solutions the wire completely unwrapped act on the balancing body (9) and rotate it, until the holes (19) and (20) are aligned, and to have the contact with the balancing body (9) and the central body (6). In this condition the traction force of each wire, due to the carriage of the skis, is reacted directly from the balancing body (9) in contact with the central body (6), and no force due to the carriage of the skis acts on the rotor (8). The only force acting on this component is the force of the spiral spring (10), that has a low intensity.

On each belt (4) there is an elastic wire or an elastic belt (23), sewed at one extremity at some position on the belt (24), and with a strip with a hook and loop fasteners (25), or an analogue system as a button, or a hook or similar, in the opposite side. On the ski belt there is the same fastener type (female or male respectively) in a position (26) where the elastic wire (or belt) can be fixed in a rest position.

On the ski belt (4) there is a second strip of the same type in a second position (27), in order to permit the fixation of the ski pole to the ski belt (4) moving the strip of the elastic wire or belt from the rest position (26) to the working position (27).

At both extremities of the ski belt (4) there are two strips hook and loop fastener (28 and 29) that permits to wrap and lock the skis, as normally in use and not object of this invention.

The use of the "Shoulder Hand Ski Carrier with retractable wires" (1) is very simple. The first step is to fix the first ski belt (4) to the skis, in a certain position (30) between the ski bindings and the top of the skis, and the second ski belt (4) in another certain position at the opposite side of the ski bindings (31).

The main body (2) stays adjacent to the skis (32), for the effect of the traction forces on the wires (3) due to the spiral springs.

If necessary, it is possible to fix the ski poles too with the elastic wire or bend (23), then putting the main structure (2) on the shoulder (33) it is possible to carry the skies, and eventually the ski poles, in the horizontal position.

When the skis are laid to the ground, the wires (3) wraps automatically, and the main structure (2) stays adjacent to the skis (31), avoiding the risk of entangle of the wires.
