Abstract:
A single slot short tail pulling rivet and an installation method, wherein the single slot short tail with a broached slot having a continuous smooth arc cambered surface is adopted, which is easy to manufacture, low in cost, and easy for installation. The broached slot is a three-section circular arc of unequal radius, which solves the problem of stress concentration and jamming in riveting of the single slot short tail pulling rivet. The rivet jaws automatically mesh to an optimal position. Rivet locking slot segment has a curved tooth in a combination of an arc and a straight line, greatly strengthening a tightening force. With a ring flange thickness/sleeve length of 0.15-0.4, the flange has a good compression capacity; deformation of the ring is small; and a fastening force of a locking slot segment is large; in particular solving the problem of ring deformation and loss of fastening force of in non-circular hole riveting. Corrugated front end face increases flange strength, and ensures that the clamping force is maintained. End face positioning, claw contouring section engaging the rivet broached slot and clamping rivets are used in riveting. Overall, the existing problems in the short tail pulling rivet such as insufficient short tail clamping strength, jamming in riveting, blockage of the broached slot, failure of riveting, lack or loss of tightness and the like are solved, thereby meeting requirements in performance and reliability of the railway vehicle fastening system.
