Title:
SINGLE USE BEVERAGE CAN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/111928
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The current aluminum beverage can comprise of an open-top aluminum can with lidless bottom and a lid that is crimped and seamed to the can to create a gas-tight seal after the can is filled up with a beverage. The current aluminum beverage cans can be reused for counterfeit beverages by removing the seam and original lid from the opened cans, filling up the recycled open-top cans with counterfeit beverages and then sealing the recycled open-top cans with a new lid. The present invention comprise of an open-top can with lidless bottom and a lid that will render the can completely useless for recycling as "new" cans in the production of counterfeit beverages.

CLAIMS

1. An open-top cum lidless bottom beverage can with a blank lid crimped and seamed to the open top of the can to create a gas-tight seal that is characterized by the stay-tab opening mechanism located at the lidless bottom of the can, which makes it completely useless for the production of counterfeit beverages once the stay-tab opening mechanism has been activated and the can opened by the hole formed at the lidless bottom of the can, to solve the problem of beverage counterfeiters recycling the current aluminum beverage cans with stay-tab opening mechanism that had already been opened, for the production of counterfeit beverages by removing the seam and original lid from the used cans to obtain the secondhand open-top cans, filling up the secondhand open-top cans with counterfeit beverages and then sealing the counterfeit beverages filled secondhand open-top cans with a new lid with stay-tab opening mechanism.

AMENDED CLAIMS

received by the International Bureau on 20 February 2020 (20.02.2020) CLAIMS

1. An open-top cum lidless bottom beverage can with a blank lid crimped and seamed to the open top of the can to create a gas-tight seal that is characterized by the stay-tab opening mechanism located at the lidless bottom of the can, which nobody had thought of making in the past, is a new way of making the open-top beverage cans with lidless bottom and stay-tab opening mechanism completely useless for the production of counterfeit beverages once the stay-tab opening mechanism has been activated and the can opened by the hole formed at the lidless bottom of the can, to solve the problem of beverage counterfeiters recycling the current aluminum beverage cans with stay-tab opening mechanism that had already been opened, for the production of counterfeit beverages by removing the seam and original lid from the used cans to obtain the secondhand open-top cans, filling up the secondhand open-top cans with counterfeit beverages and then sealing the counterfeit beverages filled secondhand open-top cans with a new lid with stay-tab opening mechanism.

Description:
TITLE OF THE INVENTION

SINGLE USE BEVERAGE CAN

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a new technical solution to a problem for open-top beverage cans with lidless bottom and the stay-tab opening mechanism.

BACKGROUND ART

The stay-tab opening mechanism of the current aluminum beverage cans is located on the lid which is placed on top of the beverage filled open-top can with lidless bottom and then crimped and seamed to the can to create a gas-tight seal. However, the current location of the stay-tab opening mechanism on the lid means that these open-top cans can be reused for counterfeiting beverages by removing the seam and original lid from the opened cans, filling up the recycled secondhand open-top cans with counterfeit beverages and then sealing the counterfeit beverages filled secondhand open-top cans with a new lid with stay-tab opening mechanism. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

The object of the present invention is to provide beverage cans with lidless bottom that cannot be reused for the production of counterfeit beverages. Accordingly, the stay-tab opening mechanism of the present invention is located at the lidless bottom of the open-top cans (see Fig. 1) and the beverage filled open-top cans are sealed with a blank lid at the top (see Fig. 2) so that the hole that is formed at the lidless bottom of the cans after pulling the stay-tab will render the open-top cans useless for the production of counterfeit beverages since they cannot be refilled and resealed with a new stay-tab opening

mechanism on the lidless bottom.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Fig. 1 is an oblique view illustrating the lidless bottom (3) with stay-tab opening mechanism (5) of a beverage can according to the present invention.

Fig. 2 is an oblique view illustrating the top (4) of a beverage can with a blank lid (1) crimped and seamed to the can to create a gas-tight seal (2) according to the present invention. BEST MODE OF CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

The best mode of carrying out the invention is to punch the indentation of the hole for opening the can on the lidless bottom of the open-top can and attach the stay-tab to complete the can opening mechanism after the forming of the open-top can with lidless bottom and before the final shape of the top is formed.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY

This invention will enable beverage manufacturers using open-top aluminum cans with stay-tab opening mechanism to protect the integrity of their product quality and reduce the risk of damage to the good reputation of their brands and/or incur any liabilities, financial or otherwise, that may arise from the activities of beverage counterfeiters.
