Abstract:
Provided is a sintered body comprising a first phase and a second phase, wherein the first phase is composed of cubic boron nitride particles, and the second phase is composed of a first material which is partially-stabilized ZrO2 in which Al2O3 particles are dispersed along grain boundaries and/or within grains. When two or more cubic boron nitride particles adjacent to and directly contacting each other and directly contacting at least a portion of the surface of the first phase are defined as a contact body, the second phase satisfies Dii=Di+(2×Σdk(k = 1 to n)) and [(Dii-Di)/Dii]×100≤50, where Di is the length of the entire circumference of the contact body, n is the number of contact points in direct contact with the cubic boron nitride particles, dk is the length of the contact points, and Σdk (k = 1 to n) is the total length of the contact points.
