Abstract:
Provided is a sintered body characterized by: comprising zirconia that contains a solid solution of one or more types of stabilizing elements selected from among scandium, yttrium, and lanthanoid rare earth elements and that has a tetragonal crystal structure as a main phase; and having a relative density of 99.9% or higher, wherein the zirconia (a) has an average crystal grain size of 10-100 nm and is non-oriented, or (b) has an average crystal grain size of 100-1000 nm and has an orientation degree of 90% or more in one of the (100) plane and the (001) plane.
