Abstract:
Provided is a slag detoxification method for preventing generation of toxic hexavalent chromium in slag waste. A reducing agent and slag containing chromium oxide are introduced to an electric furnace, the slag is reduced by the reducing agent, and thereby chromium-containing metal and slag waste are produced (S11). The chromium oxide content (Cr2O3 mass%) in the slag waste is brought to 1.4 mass% or less and the basicity (CaO/SiO2) is brought to less than 1.3.
