Provided are a smart household lamp and a control method therefor. The smart household lamp comprises a base (1), a telescopic lamp rod (2), a height adjustment part (3), a rotation part (4), a lampshade (5), a lamp assembly (6), an infrared sensing device (7) and a controller (8), wherein the telescopic lamp rod (2) is fixed to the base (1), the height adjustment part (3) is arranged inside the base (1), the height adjustment part (3) is electrically connected to the telescopic lamp rod (2), the rotation part (4) is arranged on the telescopic lamp rod (2), the lampshade (5) is arranged on the rotation part (4), the lamp assembly (6) and the infrared sensing device (7) are arranged in the lampshade (5), and the controller (8) is electrically connected to the infrared sensing device (7), the rotation part (4) and the height adjustment part (3). The controller (8) can control lifting of the telescopic lamp rod (2) and rotation of the rotation part (4). In the smart household lamp and the control method therefor, the smart household lamp can be lifted or rotated according to actual use conditions, thus having strong practicability.
