Abstract:
This smell detection device comprises: an ion sensor that has a sensitive film and outputs an output signal corresponding to variation in the electric potential of the sensitive film; a substance adsorption film that is disposed on the sensitive film and that, as a result of adsorbing a smell substance to be detected, undergoes a change in state and produces a change in the electric potential of the sensitive film; and an adjustment unit for acquiring the output signal from the ion sensor and adjusting a drive signal for driving the ion sensor so as to reduce the offset of the output signal from a predetermined reference value.
