A substantially cylindrical housing (2), i.e., that is the main body of a socket (1), has a pair of terminal protrusions (2a) formed at lower parts of its circumferential surface so as to be projected at symmetrical positions. On the upper end surface of the housing, a pair of lead terminal protrusions (2b) are formed so as to be projected at symmetrical positions. At the center of each terminal protrusion, a slot (2a1) is formed, into which part of a metal terminal (6) is inserted in the tangential direction of the circumferential surface of the housing. A through-hole (2d) is formed, through which the lead terminal of a lamp is inserted from the center of each lead terminal protrusion to the lower surface of the housing. The metal terminal comprises a center portion (6a), a solder hole (6b), an elastic beam portion (6c), a first fixing portion (6d) and a second fixing portion (6e). The elastic beam portion has a contact portion (6c1), which is formed close to its end so as to be projected and is connected to one object to be connected.
