Abstract:
The present invention reduces noise in a solid-state imaging element having an analog to digital converter (ADC) for each column. The analog to digital converter increases or decreases an analog signal using an analog gain selected from a plurality of analog gains, and converts the increased or decreased analog signal into a digital signal. An input switching unit inputs either a test signal of a predetermined level or a pixel signal into the analog to digital converter as the analog signal. A correction value calculation unit, in response to the input of the test signal, determines, from the analog signal and the digital signal, a correction value for correcting an error in the selected analog gain, and outputs the correction value. A correction unit, if a pixel signal is input after the correction value is output, corrects the digital signal using the correction value.
