When an operation start condition for this sound device (700A) is met, a control unit (730A) determines that a prescribed time interval has started. Thus, when it is determined that the prescribed time interval has started, the control unit (730A) refers to first sound source information to generate a first sound signal corresponding to an operation confirmation sound until the prescribed time interval has finished, and controls a supply unit (740) such that a second sound signal corresponding to a vehicle-like sound is generated on the basis of drive information sent from an acquisition unit (720). Furthermore, when a predetermined time elapses from the start of a prescribed time interval and the prescribed time interval has elapsed, the control unit (730A) controls the supply unit (740) such that an output sound signal corresponding to the vehicle-like sound is generated on the basis of the drive information sent from the acquisition unit (720). The health of resources for outputting the vehicle-like sound outside the vehicle can thus easily and reliably be confirmed.
