Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a space sanitizing and cleaning device which uses hypochlorous acid water to sanitize and clean a space, the space sanitizing and cleaning device being capable of lengthening the lifespan of an electrode and maintaining electrolysis operation over a long period. This space sanitizing and cleaning device sanitizes and cleans the space around a housing 12 by discharging, out of the housing 12 from a discharge opening 20, air that has had dust removed therefrom by a dust removing filter 32 and that, as a result of passing through a sanitizing filter 76 which has absorbed electrolyzed hypochlorous acid water generated by an electrolyzed hypochlorous acid water generating device 60, contains hypochlorous acid volatilized from the electrolyzed hypochlorous acid water and has been brought into contact with the electrolyzed hypochlorous acid water through gas-liquid contact. The space sanitizing and cleaning device is characterized in that: electrodes 62 each comprise a titanium or a titanium alloy electrode body 62A and a catalyst layer 62B having a noble metal component adhered to the surface of the electrode body 62A; and a control means 64 executes control to conduct electrical current such that the current direction between the electrodes 62 reverses in an alternating manner with a period of non-current conduction sandwiched between the change of directions, and control to reverse the current conduction direction to the electrodes during the period of non-current conduction to the electrodes.
