Abstract:
According to an embodiment, there is provided a speed control device for a water pump, comprising: a data collecting unit which collects first data which is set for a first rolled material to be rolled, and sets the flow rate of cooling water to be injected into the tip of the first rolled material, and second data including a pattern of the transport speed of the first rolled material which is set for the first rolled material; a first calculation unit which calculates a first predicted water injection amount that is an expected value of the cooling water injected into the first rolled material, on the basis of the first data and the second data; and a second calculation unit which calculates a speed command value to be supplied to an inverter device that drives the water pump, on the basis of the first predicted water injection amount and characteristic data on the speed of the water pump with respect to the flow rate that the water pump can pump.
