Abstract:
Provided are: a spinning top having good dimensional accuracy and excellent rotational balance; and a production method for spinning tops. The spinning top 100 has a rotating shaft 110 and a rotating outer peripheral section 120 that fits into the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 110 on the same axis as the rotating shaft 110. The rotating shaft 110 is characterized by comprising: a cylindrical parallel section 112 that is parallel to the center axis of rotation AX of the rotating shaft 110 and engages with the rotating outer peripheral section 120; a tapered section 114 that continues on from the parallel section 112, has a prescribed angle of inclination relative to the center axis of rotation AX of the rotating shaft 110, and engages with the rotating outer peripheral section 120; and a tip section 116 that continues on from the parallel section 112 or the tapered section 114. The rotating shaft 110 and the rotating outer peripheral section 120 can be almost completely coaxial, as a result of fitting same together at an engagement surface comprising the parallel section 112 and the tapered section 114. As a result, a spinning top having good dimensional accuracy and excellent rotational balance can be provided.
