Abstract:
Disclosed is a spiral umbrella with an innovative design and capable of closing structurally without support. The disclosed umbrella is opened via stretchers (22) and ribs (21) when a runner (16) is raised upon opening the umbrella, and is provided with a canopy (30) which allows the ribs (21) to curve in a spiral. The canopy (30) comprises a canopy body (31) and a pocket section (32) which is formed concavely upwards in the center of the canopy body (31). The pocket section (32) has a top section (32a) fixed at the top of a notch (14) and an opening part (32b) opening downwards at the bottom end, and allows the ribs (21) be restored to the approximately linear shape when the umbrella is closed.
