Abstract:
The invention is an apparatus for use in crepe griddles (1) and it is characterized as having a vertical travelling axis (7) and body holder slot (6) positioned opposite of each other on the assembly rim (8), a carrier body (5) that can be moved up and down thanks to such vertical travelling axis (7) and a crepe spreader (3) that rotates around its axis under such carrier body (5), wherein the assembly rim (8) has a circular design, there is a body holder slot (6) in which the carrier body (5) is positioned after being lowered, there is a vertical travelling axis(7) on which the carrier body (5) is lifted and moved up, there is a crepe spreader (3) that is positioned just under the carrier body (5) and connected to such carrier body (5) through a movement transmission pin (9), there is a rotating handle (4) ensuring 360 degree rotation of the crepe spreader (3) spreading the viscose dough poured on the cooking surface (2) around its axis and positioned just above the movement transmission pin (9), there are edge scrappers (10) that are located at both ends of the crepe spreader (3), adjust the thickness and diameter of the crepe as well as prevent flowing the crepe out of the griddle and can be made distance setting up and down by removing from their slot, that the interior of the edge scraper (10) and the interior of the crepe spreader (3) have a serrated and intertwined structure, there is a carrier body (5) with one end fixed with screwing method on the vertical travelling axis (7) positioned on the assembly rim (8), other end positioned on the body holder slot (6) and there is an electric motor instead of the rotating handle (4) just above the movement transmission pin (9) in a alternative embodiment of the invention.

An apparatus for use in crepe cooking griddles characterized in that; it comprises, the vertical travelling axis (7) and body holder slot (6) positioned opposite of each other on the assembly rim (8), the carrier body (5) that can be moved up and down thanks to the vertical travelling axis (7) and the crepe spreader (3) that can rotate around its axis under the carrier body (5). 2. An apparatus mentioned in Claim 1 characterized in that; it comprises edge scrappers (10) that are located at both ends of the crepe spreader (3), adjust the thickness and diameter of the crepe as well as prevent flowing the crepe out of the griddle and can be made distance setting up and down by removing from their slot.

8. An apparatus mentioned in Claim 1 characterized in that; the interior of the edge scraper (10) and the interior of the crepe spreader (3) have a serrated and intertwined structure.

9. An apparatus mentioned in Claim 1 characterized in that; it comprises a carrier body (5) with one end fixed with screwing method on the vertical travelling axis (7) positioned on the assembly rim (8), other end positioned on the body holder slot (6).

10. An apparatus mentioned in Claim 1 characterized in that; it comprises an electric motor instead of the rotating handle (4) just above the movement transmission pin (9) in a alternative embodiment of the invention.

11. An alternative apparatus used in crepe griddles characterized in that; having a movement transmission pin (9) engaged to the axis lever (11) connected to the horizontal travelling axis (12) and crepe spreader (3) connected to such movement transmission pin (9).

12. An apparatus mentioned in Claim 11 characterized in that; the horizontal movement axis (12) is integrated with the assembly rim (8).

13. An apparatus mentioned in Claim 11 characterized in that; it comprises an electric motor instead of the rotating handle (4) just above the movement transmission pin (9) in a alternative embodiment of the invention.

Description:
A Spreading Apparatus Used for Cooking Crepes (Pancakes)

Technical Field

Crepe, which is traditionally called crepe, is a sweet or salty food product, which is cooked by pouring the viscose dough prepared with the flour, egg and milk on a hot surface. The invention relates to an apparatus for use in crepe cooking griddles.

Prior Art

Crepe is a small, round, sweet or salty foodstuff made of eggs, milk, flour and prepared by frying on a pan or cooking griddles. The crepe, which is poured on a hot griddle and cooked quickly, is a food that is served with different flavors like fruit and cream inside.

Charming presentation and taste of crepes depend on the thickness, consistency of the crepe and quality of ingredients. The crepe dough, which as very viscose texture, must be spread on the griddle properly after pouring. This spreading process must be performed properly and in a very skillful manner. In the present art, a homogeneous distribution is tried to ensured on the griddle with wooden crepe trowel or crepe spreader sticks. Using these tools requires mastery. It is pretty difficult to set obtain a surface thickness with desired thickness and balanced texture. These crepe spreaders used in the present art need to be changed frequently. Besides, it is very difficult to obtain crepes of desired consistency and taste with the apparatuses in the present art. This creates significant costs for the business owner and the user. The GR1005588 Greek patent document mentions an electrically operated crepe maker. Such crepe making apparatus relates to the rapid and even smoothing of the dough with an axis rotated by an electric motor. Said apparatus is completely portable and is operated gropingly by keeping it away from the crepe at a fixed distance. Crepe is made at a distance set gropingly by means of a hand operated apparatus. Therefore, a standard thickness can not be obtained. It is also not possible to obtain a crepe in the desired quality and level as the hand moves or shakes.

Purpose of the Invention

The purpose of the invention is to create a crepe making apparatus that allows cooking a crepe with a proper appearance and in desired diameter and thickness quickly and practically and is suitable for use in crepe cooking griddles.

The apparatus designed to accomplish aforesaid purpose is composed of a vertical travelling axis (7) and body holder slot (6) positioned opposite of each other on the assembly rim (8), a carrier body (5) that can be moved up and down thanks to such vertical travelling axis (7) and a crepe spreader (3) that rotates around its axis under such carrier body (5). In an alternative embodiment of the invention there is a movement transmission pin (9) engaged to the axis lever (11) connected to the horizontal travelling axis (12) and a crepe spreader (3) connected to said movement transmission pin (9).

Detailed Explanation of the Invention

Crepe (pancake), which is traditionally called crepe, is a sweet or salty food product, which is cooked by pouring the viscose dough prepared with the flour, egg and milk on a hot surface. The invention relates to an apparatus for use in crepe cooking griddles.

The invention can be applied to all kinds of crepe griddles (1). The invention is composed of a crepe spreader (3), an edge scraper (10), a movement transmission pin (9), a rotating handle (4), the carrier body (5), the vertical travelling axis (7) and the body holder slot (6).

The apparatus to be used on the crepe cooking griddles is fixed on the crepe griddle (1) by means of an assembly rim (8). The assembly rim (8) has a circular design. However, its design may vary depending on the shape of the crepe cooking griddle. The vertical travelling axis (7) and body holder slot (6) are positioned opposite of each other on the assembly rim (8). The carrier body (5) can be moved up and down thanks to the vertical travelling axis (7). During the crepe preparation process, the carrier body (5) is lowered and positioned on the body holder slot (6). In this way a stable usage is obtained. When the cooking process is over, the carrier body (5) is lifted up and pulled over the vertical travelling axes (7). The crepe spreader (3) is positioned just under the carrier body (5). The crepe spreader (3) can rotate around its axis under the carrier body (5).

The crepe spreader (3) used to spread the crepe to the cooking surface (2) is connected to the carrier body (5) through the movement transmission pin (9). The rotating handle (4) is located just above the movement transmission pin (9). The movement transmission pin (9) and the crepe spreader (3) are connected to each other by means of screws and/or similar fastening elements. No mechanical aids (bearings, springs, etc.) are used between the rotating handle (4) and the crepe spreader (3) and the motion is ensured by the accustomed surfaces. Alternatively, bearings, springs, etc. auxiliary elements can also be used. When the rotating handle (4) is rotated, the crepe spreader (3) can rotate 360 degrees on its axis. The crepe spreader (3) spreads the fluid dough poured homogenously on the cooking surface (2). The edge scrappers (10) at two ends of the crepe spreader (3) adjust the thickness and diameter of the crepes as well as prevent the crepes from flowing out of the surface of the griddle.

The crepe spreader (3) is made of stainless steel and/or food grade plastic material. The interior of the edge scraper (10) and the interior of the crepe spreader (3) have a serrated and intertwined structure. In order to adjust the crepe size, the edge scrapper (10) enter into the assembly slot (13) with 1 mm pitch. By removing the edge scraper (10), the distance can be adjusted up or down. It is possible to make a crepe in the desired thickness and diameter.

While one end of the carrier body (5) is fixed with screwing method on the vertical travelling axis (7) positioned on the assembly rim (8), other end is positioned on the body holder slot (6). After the crepe making process is carried out, the carrier body (5) is lifted and released on the vertical travelling axis (7). Thus, the top of the crepe griddle is completely opened, and cooked crepe can be easily removed and/or made upside down for cooking further. Figure-2 shows the view of the apparatus when it is lifted from the crepe cooking griddle.

In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the crepe spreader (3) is connected to the movement transmission pin (9). Such movement transmission pin (9) is engaged to the axis lever (11) connected to the horizontal travelling axis (12). The horizontal movement axis (12) is integrated with the assembly rim (8). Said alternative embodiment is referred to as Figure 3. The axis lever (11) can rotate 360 degrees around the horizontal travelling axis (12). Therefore, the crepe spreader (3) can be easily pulled off when cooking with the crepe griddle (1) is completed. This is illustrated in Figure 4 as an example. The crepe spreader (3) used to spread the crepe to the cooking surface (2) is connected to the axis lever (11) through the movement transmission pin (9). The rotating handle (4) is located just above the movement transmission pin (9). The movement transmission pin (9) and the crepe spreader (3) are connected to each other by means of screws and/or similar fastening elements.
