Abstract:
Provided are a staple fiber for airlaying with which it is possible to improve dispersibility, and a method for producing the staple fiber. This staple fiber for airlaying is characterized by including a stable fiber to which a fiber-treatment agent containing a hydrophilic oil solution and a silicone-containing oil solution is bonded by 0.7-2 wt% of staple fiber weight, the weight ratio (weight of hydrophilic oil solution/weight of silicone-containing oil solution) of the hydrophilic oil solution and the silicone-containing oil solution included in the fiber-treatment agent being within a range from 60/40 to 90/10, and the moisture content being 2-13%.
