Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a stitched reinforcing fiber base material that can inhibit the formation of micro-cracks in fiber reinforced composite materials. A stitched reinforcing fiber base material according to the present invention is formed by using stitching thread to stitch reinforcing fiber sheets formed from reinforcing fibers, the stitching thread having a coefficient of linear expansion of -1×10-6 to 70×10-6/K in the fiber axis direction after being heated at 180°C for 2 hours and then cooled. The stitching thread preferably has a polar group-containing organic compound adhered thereto.
