Abstract:
A storage battery according to one embodiment of the present invention provides a simplified structure for a storage battery that communicates using radio waves, the storage battery comprising: a plurality of storage battery modules MDL, each of which is provided with a battery assembly BT that includes a plurality of battery cells, a measurement circuit that measures the voltage of the battery cells and the temperature in at least one location of the battery assembly BT, a wireless transmission/reception module that includes an antenna that transmits and receives radio waves using a polarized surface in any of a first direction, a second direction, and a third direction intersecting with each other in a space, and an arithmetic processing device; and a battery management unit 20 comprising a first wireless transmission/reception module that includes an antenna that transmits and receives radio waves using a polarized surface in the first direction, a second wireless transmission/reception module that includes an antenna that transmits and receives radio waves using a polarized surface in the second direction, and an arithmetic processing device that controls the operation of the first wireless transmission/reception module and the second wireless transmission/reception module, the polarized surface in the first direction having a smaller probability of minimum reception sensitivity of the antenna in the battery management unit 20 than the polarized surface in the other directions, and the number of the first wireless transmission/reception modules being greater than the number of the second wireless transmission/reception modules.
