Abstract:

Claims

1. A storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbour, comprising a pair of identical rubber cot arbour storage units adopted to the provided side by side only on one side of the automatic rubber cot grinding/buffing machine, each of the said rubber cot arbour loading/unloading unit/magazine consisting of a plurality of trays being kept inclined and arranged vertically in a spaced apart manner in a ; pair of columns, mounted on a pair of frames keeping the two trays of a pair at the same level with an adjustable central gap, as desired, forming a straight track for the rubber cot arbours.

2. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-1 in which the said frames used for mounting the said trays is made of metal such as aluminum or mild steel.

3. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-1 in which the said central gap in

between the two columns of the trays is adjusted by providing an adjusting means on the said frames.

4. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-3 in which the said adjusting means is a rack and pinion provided on the said frames for adjusting the central gap between the two columns of the trays, according to size/gauge of the arbours.

5. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-3 in which the said adjusting means is a nut and bolt assembly provided on the same frame for adjusting the central gap between the two columns of the trays, according to size/gauge of the arbours.

6. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-1 wherein said central gap between the two columns of the trays is adjusted manually by rotating a handle provided with the said adjusting means.

7. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-1 is adjusted with the help of prime mover rotating the said adjusting means.

8. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-7, in which the said prime mover is an electric motor.

9. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-7 in which the said prime mover is an hydraulic or pneumatic device.

10. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-1, in which the said trays of the unfinished rubber cot arbours storage unit/magazine are kept inclined towards the unfinished rubber cot arbour conveyor unit of the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine.

11. The storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours, according to claim-1, in which the said trays of the finished rubber cot arbours storage unit/magazine are kept inclined away from the finished arbour unloading conveyor unit of the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine.

12. Automatic grinding machine incorporated with the storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours as claimed 1 to 11.

Description:

STORAGE UNIT/MAGAZINE FOR LOADING/UNLOADING

RUBBER COT ARBOUR AND AN AUTOMATIC RUBBER COT

ARBOUR GRINDING/BUFFING MACHINE COMPRISING THE

SAME

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbour and an automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine comprising the same.

More particularly this invention relates to a storage unit/magazine for loading a large number of unfinished rubber cot arbours in a

( automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine as well as unloading and storing a large number of finished rubber cot arbours after grinding/buffing, herein the said rubber cot arbour loading/unloading ,units/magazine are adopted to be provided side by side on the same side of the rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine and each of the said storage unit having a large number of incline trays arranged vertically one above the other in a spaced

apart manner so has to occupy a small space thereby making the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing machine a compact and ergomatic.

Rubber cot arbour mainly comprises a steel spindle or axle provided with one or two rubber cots used as top rollers in Ring Frame, Speed Frame, Draw Frame, Combers, etc. of cotton/synthetic yarn spinning mills, in the textile industries.

The arbours or top rollers used in Draw Frames or Combers are

provided with single long cot upto 400 mm in length in the middle of

the axle portion, while the arbours or top rollers used in Ring Frames or Speed Frames are provided with a pair of cots, one each at the two ends of the axle. The cots are preferably made of rubber. A very large number of top rollers or rubber cot arbours are used in a Spinning mill/machine, which work continuously at a high

speed.

Regular grinding of the rubber cot arbours is required for ensuring

quality of yarn by reducing thread breaks and minimizing lap formation. Generally centreless grinding is used for rubber cot arbours of Ring Frames and Speed Frames and λ with center grinding'

is used for Draw Frames and Comber Cots.

Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbour are also known and used in the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machines sold in the market under the brand name εERKOL' ® manufactured by 'HUBER + SUHNER'. But in the existing rubber cot arbour grinding machines the draw back are as under

Rubber cot arbour storage magazine has low capacity and, hence requires frequent loading and unloading of arbours, needing frequent attention of the operator and taking more time.

Unfinished job arbour magazine entry is over the grinding stone wheel head unit and the exit is from the back side of the grinding wheel resulting into inline or angular longer path, making the machine operations complicated and needing more floor space even with low capacity.

The capacity of the loading/unloading storage unit/magazine is not adequate thereby needing frequent loading of unfinished rubber cot arbours as well as frequent unloading of finished rubber cot arbours, thereby needing more man power for handling the rubber cot arbour grinding machine.

In the existing rubber cot arbour loading/unloading units/magazine rubber cot arbours are not safely loaded/unloaded.

In the existing rubber cot arbour loading/unloading units/magazine adjustment for accommodating various sizes of rubber cot arbour is complicate.

In the existing rubber cot arbour loading/unloading units/magazine loading of the unfinished rubber cot arbour from the storage unit/magazine to the grinding machine is not very smooth as well as unloading of the finished rubber cot arbours form the grinding machine to the storage units/magazine is also not very smooth.

The main object of this invention is to obviate the above mentioned

drawbacks and limitation of the existing rubber cot arbour storage unit/magazine and to provide Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine in which the unfinished rubber cot arbour loading unit as well as the finished rubber cot arbour unloading unit

are provided side by side on the same side of the grinding machine,

making the grinding machine compact and ergomatic.

Another object of this invention is to provide an Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in which a large number of unfinished as well as finished rubber cot arbours can be store in a smaller space. Thereby, increasing the loading capacity of the grinding machine, while maintaining its compactness.

Further object of this invention is to provide Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in which frequent loading as well as unloading rubber cot arbour in an from the grinding machine is not require thereby reducing the man power.

Further object of this invention is to, provide Storage unit/magazine

for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in which the adjustment to

accommodate various sizes of rubber cot arbours is very simple and

easy.

Further object of this invention is to provide Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in which transfer of the unfinished rubber cot arbours from the unfinished rubber cot arbour storage unit to the conveyer of the grinding machine is very smooth

as well as transfer of the finished rubber cot arbours from the

conveyer of the grinding machine to the finished rubber cot arbour

storage unit is also very smooth, thereby making the functioning of the automatic grinding machine very smooth.

Further object of this invention is to provide Storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in which finished as well as unfinished rubber cot arbours are loaded and stored safely.

Accordingly this invention provides a storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading rubber cot arbour, comprising a pair of identical rubber cot arbour storage units adopted to the provided side by side only on one side of the automatic rubber cot grinding/buffing machine, each of the said rubber cot arbour loading/unloading unit/magazine consisting of a plurality of trays being kept inclined and arranged vertically in a spaced apart manner in a pair of columns, mounted on a pair of frames keeping the two trays of a pair at the same level with an adjustable central gap, as desired, forming a straight track for the rubber cot arbours.

Typically the frames used for mounting the said trays is made of metal such as aluminum or mild steel.

Typically the said central gap in between the two columns of the trays is adjusted by providing an adjusting means on the said frames.

Typically the said adjusting means is a rack and pinion provided on the said frames for adjusting the central gap between the two columns of the trays, according to size/gauge of the arbours.

Typically the said adjusting means is a nut and bolt assembly provided on the same frame for adjusting the central gap between the two columns of the trays, according to size/gauge of the arbours.

Typically the said central gap between the two columns of the trays is adjusted manually by rotating a handle provided with the said adjusting means.

Typically the said central gap between the two columns of the trays is adjusted with the help of prime mover rotating the said adjusting means.

Typically the said trays of the finished rubber cot arbours storage unit/magazine are kept inclined away from the finished arbour unloading conveyor unit of the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine.

This invention also provides an automatic grinding machine incorporated with the storage unit/magazine for loading/unloading

rubber cot arbours, according to this invention.

The invention will become more clear from the following description with reference to accompanying drawings wherein -

Referring to Fig. 1, the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding/buffing

machine (1), comprises of an unfinished rubber cot arbour storage

unit/magazine (2) for safely storing a large number of unfinished rubber cot arbours (3) while occupying minimum floor space; a finished rubber cot arbour storage unit/magazine (4) for safely storing a large number of finished rubber cot arbours (5) while

occupying minimum floor space, provided parallely and adjacent to the unfinished rubber cot arbours loading magazine (2) an unfinished rubber cot arbour conveyor system (6) for conveying the unfinished rubber cot arbours (3) from loading magazine (2) to a measuring unit (7) one by one quickly, without consuming much time or wasting any time; a loading/unloading carriage (8) for loading the unfinished rubber cot arbour, preferably after measuring the diameter of rubber cot in the measuring unit (7) and when not rejected but found suitable for grinding and simultaneously in sequence unloading the finished rubber cot arbour (5) from arbour holder unit (9) to a rubber cot arbour holding and guiding after grinding, to unloading conveyor system (10) for onward conveying to finished rubber cot arbours storage unit/unloading magazine (4), a grinding wheel head unit (11) movable along 'X' axis and υ' axis for grinding/buffing the rubber cot arbours as per preset of fixed diameter or fixed cut; a diamond dressing tool unit (12) for dressing the grinding wheel/emery stone, after grinding a predetermined number of rubber cot arbours and a control panel (13) for controlling all the operational sequences smoothly as per desired program. The various units/systems mounted on a frame (14) and enclosed in a body (15) having suitable doors, windows and covers.

The Storage units/magazines for loading/unloading rubber cot arbours in the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine, according to an embodiment of this invention comprises a pair of identical rubber cot arbour storage units/magazines (2) and (4) adopted to the provided side by side only on one side of the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine paralelly and adjacent to each other hereby occupying very low floor space and making the automatic rubber cot arbour grinding machine compact and ergomatic.

Referring the figs. 2 to 7, each of the rubber cot arbour storage unit (2), (4) comprises a plurality of trays (16) arranged vertically in a

spaced apart manner in a pair of columns i.e. two trays provided at

the same level with the adjustable gap (17) in there-between, forming straight track which is mounted on a pair of frames (18), preferably made of metal such as aluminum or mild steel. The pair of frames (18) are provided with adjusting means (19) such as rack and pinion or screw and nut for adjusting the central gap (17)

between the two columns of the trays (16), either manually by

rotating a handle (20) or manually by rotating a handle or by using

a prime mover such as an electric motor or a hydraulic or pneumatic

device.

The size of the arbours may vary according to the spinning mills and, hence by adjusting the central gap (17) different sizes of arbours are accommodated in the storage units/magazines. A large number of arbours say 500 numbers are stored safely in the trays of each loading magazine (2), (4) there by occupying minimum floor space.

The unfinished arbours loading magazine (2) and the- finished arbour unloading magazine (4) are similar in construction, the only difference being that the trays (16) of the loading magazine (2) are kept inclined downwards towards the unfinished rubber cot arbour conveyor system (6) while the trays 1 (21) of the unloading magazine (4) are kept inclined downwards away from the finished rubber cot arbour conveyor system (10).
