The present invention relates to a suction type dust collector which can facilitate charging of dust particles through structural improvement of an electrode part, thereby greatly improving the dust particle collecting performance of the electrode part. The suction type dust collector comprises: a cell assembly including collector electrode parts having a hollow cylindrical shape through which suctioned air passes, and emitter electrode parts disposed to pass through the hollows of the collector electrode parts; a cover housing including a front plate having an opening through which air is sucked, a rear plate spaced apart from the front plate and having a plurality of fan insertion holes, a bottom plate and side plates that respectively connect the lower and side edges of the front and rear plates, and a top plate selectively opening and closing the upper portions of the front plate and the rear plate; a suction assembly including suction fans provided at positions corresponding to the fan insertion holes of the rear plate to guide the flow of air to the rear; and a power supply unit for applying power having opposite polarities to the emitter electrode parts and the collector electrode parts.
