Abstract:
The present invention provides compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds, methods of preparing said compounds or pharmaceutical compositions, and the use of the compounds and compositions in treating or preventing bacterial infections or diseases resulting from said infections. The compounds may be block like co-polymers consisting of a helical poly-amido-saccharide (PAS) domain of glucose or galactose poly-amido-saccharides linked to a cationic segment of Nyion-3 family based co-polymers, wherein the cationic segment is selected from poly-dimethyl-diamino butanoate (PDM). The compounds of formula (I), or pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds, may be used as cellular efflux pump inhibitors and bacterial membrane permeabilizer with improved mammalian cell compatibility.
