Title:
SURFACE-COATED CUTTING TOOL HAVING EXCELLENT ADHESION-INDUCED CHIPPING RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/065678
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a surface-coated cutting tool having an excellent adhesion-induced chipping resistance against chipping induced by adhesion, even in intermittent cutting such as milling performed on a Ti alloy or a stainless steel alloy, etc., which are work materials in which adhesion easily occurs. A surface-coated cutting tool in which a hard coating layer comprising a monolayer or laminated layers is formed on the surface of a tool base made of a WC-based cemented carbide, wherein the surface-coated cutting tool has two to ten zirconium oxide layers measuring 0.03 to 1.8 μm in thickness and 0.1 to 10 μm in width in at least the region extending 50 μm into a rake part from a honing part at the interface between the tool base and the hard coating layer, and, furthermore, the surface-coated cutting tool has a compressive residual stress in the aforementioned region of the rake part of 1000-1900 MPa.
