Abstract:
In the present invention, used is a blast medium that contains, as a main component, a first powdery/particulate substance which results from crushing a substance having a hardness equal to or less than the hardness of a member to be restored. A mixture of this blast medium and a gas is sprayed in bands through a nozzle having an approximate rectangular jet orifice, where the flow rate is adjusted during the spraying. The sprayed mixture is caused to function as a polishing tool for removing a defacement on the member to be restored, and by removing the defacement, the sprayed mixture exposes, without grinding, the layer below the defacement on the surface of the member or a peripheral restoration surface. The sprayed mixture also performs a roughening treatment for forming fine reliefs on the restored surfaces.
