Abstract:
The invention relates to a surgical implant (10) for stabilizing and fixing cervical vertebrae of a spinal column of dogs with an atlantoaxial instability, comprising a plate-shaped main part (1) which is designed to bridge two adjacent vertebrae and is provided with two end-face securing portions (2, 3) which are rigidly connected to each other via a connecting part (4), each securing portion (2, 3) being formed with at least one means (6) for fixing into the vertebrae. Each securing portion has at least two fixing means (6), each of which is in the form of a securing hole for a bone screw. The at least two means of a securing portion are arranged on securing portion planes which are angled relative to each other such that each of the bone screws can be screwed in the direction of the center of the cervical vertebrae to be stabilized in the installed position, and hooks (5) are provided which protrude from the main part in a laterally curving manner.
