Abstract:
In order to provide a surgical instrument that has an open-close type end effector, such as forceps, and is configured to have a small size and light weight, the surgical instrument is equipped with: a shaft (102); a pitch unit (401) connected to a tip of the shaft (102) to be pivotable around a first axis; a roll unit (402) supported to be rotatable around a second axis with respect to the pitch unit (401); and a grip unit (403) supported to be linearly movable in the second axial direction with respect to the roll unit (402), and is further provided with a pair of jaws (405a, 405b) that are attached to a lower end of the roll unit (402) in the second axial direction and are opened and closed in conjunction with the linear movement in the second axial direction of the grip unit (403).
