Abstract:
Provided is a suspension capable of turning a wheel as well as generating a damping force between a sprung mass and an unsprung mass. This suspension (3) comprises: a shaft (5) that is coupled to the sprung mass of a vehicle and formed with a thread groove (5a) and a spline groove (5b); a ball screw nut (6) that is mounted to the shaft (5) with balls (17) interposed therebetween; a ball spline nut (7) that is mounted to the shaft (5) with balls (10) interposed therebetween; a ball screw motor (8) that is connected to the ball screw nut (6); a ball spline motor (9) that is connected to the ball spline nut (7); and a case (18) that is coupled to the unsprung mass of the vehicle and holds the ball screw motor (8) and the ball spline motor (9). The ball spline motor (9) rotates the ball spline nut (7) and the shaft (5) relative to the case (18).
