Abstract:
A synchronous reluctance type rotary electric machine according to one embodiment of the present invention has a rotor iron core. The rotor iron core has a plurality of poles, wherein a plurality of layers of cavities, each having have a shape projected radially inside each pole, are formed, and a bridge is formed between the cavities and the outer peripheral surface. When a boundary between two adjacent poles is set as a pole boundary, a groove is formed on at least one of the two sides flanking the pole boundary therebetween, at a position avoiding the pole boundary in the outer peripheral surface of the rotor iron core.
