Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for automatically sorting waste metal by using laser-induced plasma spectroscopy. The system may comprise: a conveyor which moves waste metals with constant velocity; a shape measurement device which measures the location and shape of at least one waste metal present on the conveyor; a laser-induced plasma spectroscopy device which irradiates a laser to the waste metal, receives a plasma spectral signal generated by the irradiated laser, and analyzes the plasma spectral signal so as to determine the type of the waste metal; and a discharge device which performs separation and discharge according to the determined type of the waste metal.
