[Problem] Conventional tableware collecting devices have had the following problem: it is difficult to detect which of multiple types of tableware has passed through a collection port. [Solution] At a restaurant, a tableware collecting device 10 collects, in a tableware collection part, tableware having passed through one collection port 19, the tableware collecting device 10 comprising: a wireless communication part that reads an RF tag when first tableware with the RF tag has passed through the collection port 19; a sensor that detects second tableware, which is at least different from the first tableware, when the second tableware has passed through the collection port 19; a detection part that detects passing of the first tableware through the collection port 19 when the first tableware has passed through the collection port 19 and also detects passing of the second tableware through the collection port 19 when the second tableware has passed through the collection port 19, on the basis of the readout result from the wireless communication part and the detection result from the sensor; and a processing part that performs predetermined processing according to the detection result from the detection part. Which of multiple types of tableware has passed through the collection port can be detected by the tableware collecting device 10.
