Provided is a tank cooling apparatus which is capable of ensuring cooling of a desired region and minimizing the dimensional error of said region.　This cooling apparatus 10 comprises: a pair of movable frames (14, 15) which are provided so as to be movable relative to each other and to have a tank (1) held therebetween; a plurality of abutment members 30 which are respectively provided to the pair of movable frames and which have abutment surfaces 30a that each come into abutment with the exterior surface of the tank; a liquid coolant supply passage 26 which has a plurality of liquid coolant supply ports 26a that are opened in the abutment surface 30a of each of the abutment members 30 for the purpose of supplying a liquid coolant toward the exterior surface of the tank; and a liquid coolant supply device (27) which supplies the liquid coolant to the liquid coolant supply passage 26. The abutment surfaces 30a have formed therein grooves 50 that extend from the respectively corresponding coolant supply ports 26a up to outer edges of the abutment surfaces 30a. Cooling of the tank takes place while the abutment thereof with the abutment members 30 is being maintained.
