Disclosed is a tea leaf screening apparatus for the preliminary screening of leaves according to the leaf shape, comprising a conveyor belt (1); a conveying groove (2) is provided above the conveyor belt (1), a tea leaf distributing shaft (3) is movably connected above the conveyor belt (1), a separation bench (4) is movably connected above the conveyor belt (1), and a rotary groove (5) is provided within the separation bench (4). When tea leaves horizontally fall and impact on an adjustment rod (16) within an adjustment cavity (15), since the tail end of a tea leaf is heavier than the tip end, all of the tea leaves fall tail end facing downward into a classification tube (17), and are funneled out from different outlets according to the length of the tea leaves. The described process can achieve the purpose of the apparatus being able to screen and classify tea leaves, avoiding problems which are caused by mixing young and old leaves during tea leaf picking and which affect the quality of a final tea product, improving the quality of tea leaves as well as eliminating manual second selection, and improving production efficiency while reducing a certain amount of work time.
